The annual parade reaches the Stratford cenotaph, already adorned with wreaths in honor of those who served. This cenotaph, designed by renowned sculptor Walter S. Allward, is especially notable for being the same artist behind the iconic Vimy War Memorial in France.

Stratford Businesses Embrace Early Trick-or-Treating

Stratford's little ghouls and goblins got an early Halloween treat this year, thanks to the Downtown Stratford BIA's inaugural Trick-or-Treat event on October 26th.

The sunny afternoon saw families strolling through downtown Stratford, collecting candy and other goodies from participating businesses. The BIA, in partnership with CJCS radio, added to the fun by distributing candy at the Destination Stratford office.

"Everyone seems to be having a great time," said Jamie Pritchard, BIA general manager. "It's wonderful to see the kids enjoying themselves."

In addition to candy, trick-or-treaters were delighted with extra surprises. The Good Vibrations Rock Shop offered young visitors the chance to choose a crystal of their own.

The Trick-or-Treat event coincided with the launch of the SCARE card contest, offering a chance to win $100 in downtown dollars. The annual Pumpkin Parade on November 1st will mark the conclusion of Stratford's Halloween festivities.
